Need a lift but don’t want to go under the knife? At Advanced Life Clinic, we offer a liquid facelift. Learn about the differences between a liquid facelift and a surgical facelift.
What is a liquid facelift?
A liquid facelift combines facial fillers such as Sculptra, Radiesse and Juvederm to restore facial volume and lift the facial structures back into place. We put volume into the whole face and not into small lines, wrinkles, or folds. Think of the skin like a balloon; when it’s empty, the balloon is saggy and wrinkled. Once you fill the balloon with air it becomes smooth and bouncy. A liquid facelift can definitely put a little bounce in your step. Some of the fillers are gel and sort of plump immediately. Some of the fillers are liquid and take a bit of time to settle in and show results.
What products are used?
Scupltra is one of the first we use and it is applied as a base–a foundation of your liquid lift. Applied deeply, it takes a little time to work but lasts for two to three years. Radiesse is also used as a “structure” for the face followed by Juvederm and Restylane to fill in those folds under lips and eyes. As we age, our estrogen levels go down and we all lose our lips; generally the top lip. goes before the bottom lip. A thinner lip line is a sign of aging unfortunately. Having a little bit of your lip restored with a gel filler can shave years off of your appearance. Botox or Dysport are the final piece to the puzzle and are used to smooth out the upper areas of the face. When used correctly, Botox can actually give you a bit of a brow lift resulting in the “Botox Browlift” which is an elevation of the brow. Botox is the number one non-invasive cosmetic procedure in the world.
Benefits of the liquid facelift?
The liquid facelift is completely non-invasive and involves no downtime except for bruising and slight swelling. The process is completed in the comfort of our office and takes two to three visits. Several of the treatments can last two years or longer with Botox needed a touch-up every three to four months. The liquid facelift is a great choice for those who don’t want to have plastic surgery or are trying to delay it as long as possible. While some of the products do take a little bit of time to reach their full impact, most patients leave our office with plumper lips, less noticeable frown lines and a fresher appearance. All of the products are FDA approved. Surgical facelifts also require a significant amount of downtime thought they do last longer; about five to eight years. Most surgical facelift patients still require the use of Botox and other fillers. Surgical facelifts simply stretch the skin but don’t provide any volume. The volume provided by a liquid facelift is the key to having a “fresher” face and looking younger.
What does it cost?
Liquid facelifts are less costly than surgical ones with initial treatments ranging from $1500 to $2500 versus surgical costs of $15,000 to $20,000.
