Been tagged?

Skin tags are a small piece of “hanging” skin. These benign, but often unsightly bits, can form as we age and affect about 25% of adults. Skin tags generally occur in places where clothing may rub or there is skin to skin friction. Common locations include underarms, chest, neck and groin.

Worrisome wart?

Warts are harmless rough spots on the skin, generally on the feet or hands.

Maddening moles?

Have benign moles that leave you bothered? Most moles form during childhood and by the time a person is 30, it’s not uncommon to have anywhere from 10 to 40 moles. Most moles are black or brown and some may be raised or even have hair.

Want them gone?

Sometimes family physicians are reluctant to remove these lesions because they are not medically important and are only a cosmetic concern. We don’t hesitate to address our patients concerns and move quickly to get them removed. Even though there may be no medical concern, our goal is to help you look and feel your best. The location of a skin tag, mole or wart can lead to irritation if it’s being rubbed by a collar or bra strap.

How we do it

Small cosmetic skin lesions can be taken care of easily in a five minute simple office procedure. Lasers actually are typically not used for these types of lesions. Instead, we use a freezing technique and sometimes heat from an eclectic probe. We just purchased a gadget in Miami called a Cryoprobe that uses a pinpoint stream of liquid nitrogen that allows us to freeze off even the tiniest of skin tags without damaging any of the surrounding tissue. This technique allows us to remove these lesions without having to use painful numbing injections except on the largest ones. Cost for this procedure is minimal between $75-150 depending on the number of lesions to be removed.
